Our Patron Sarah Moyle gets "on her bike" for C4K!
Our Patron, Sarah Moyle (BBC's 'Doctors') is fundraising for us in style as she takes part in the Prudential Ride London in aid of Christmas for Kids. This year, the usually live event is now virtual, with each entrant needing to record 46 miles (that's two Marathons!) to qualify and Sarah will be taking the challenge on her Brompton folding bike. The other rule states "no lycra", so Sarah will be wearing her best 'City Chic' outfit (for fans of her Lockdown Catwalk series!) There are also a couple of selfie challenges to do along the way, so we look forward to seeing those on Sarah's socials!
Follow the event here: @PrudentialRideLondon and #MyPRL
We caught up with Sarah today and asked how her training was going: "I did 40 miles yesterday and I feel broken today!!"
If that isn't worth a bit of sponsorship, we don't know what is! You can still sponsor Sarah on her JustGiving page by clicking below:
C4K took the 2.6 Challenge to support
Shooting Star Children's Hospices!!
The Coronavirus pandemic seriously compromised Shooting Star Children's Hospices' fundraising avenues, and we wanted to do our bit to support them. Shooting Star Hampton was one of the first venues we visited back in 2009, and we have had a wonderful relationship with their amazing team of carers and incredible families ever since.
In May, we challenged our versatile cast alumni (including our puppets!) to record their own take of 26 songs for all to enjoy. All the songs are featured on our YouTube channel (click the button below) and we hope that you enjoy them, share them far and wide and donate to our 2.6 Challenge Fundraiser too!
Song #26 - The Finale!! - Soar
By Adam Sharp
Sung by Christmas For Kids
It's the final song in our 2.6 Challenge, and we love it so much! With music and lyrics by C4K alumnus Adam Sharp, and sung by former cast members from our tours over the years, this song sums up the incredible contribution made by those who work in children's hospice care, and also reflects the fun, silliness and energy that we bring to our work.
You will find the other 25 songs recorded by the C4K alumni on our YouTube channel here
